URL Components Explained

Protocol (Scheme)

Defines how the browser communicates with the server. Common: http://, https://, ftp://

Domain (Host)

The server address. Can be a domain name or IP address. Includes subdomains like "www".

Port

Identifies a specific service. Default: 80 (HTTP), 443 (HTTPS). Usually hidden.

Path

Resource location on the server, organized hierarchically with forward slashes.

Query String

Key-value pairs starting with ?, separated by &. Used for filters, search, etc.

Fragment (Hash)

Points to a page section. Starts with #. Not sent to server.
